As you may have heard, Dr. Tim Lee and Connie will not be able to be with us this week for revival.  Their sixteen year old granddaughter (Ally Hooten) was killed in an ATV accident over last weekend and her funeral was on Friday.

The church voted Wednesday night to go ahead and honor Dr. Lee and his family with a love gift.  We received an offering and mailed a check for $    on Thursday.  I want to thank you church family for your generous and compassionate heart.

Revival is not in the sermon notes of an evangelist.  Revival is in my personal relationship with God!  One of the first steps on the road to revival is obedience to our Lord.  Three questions that can be helpful in that journey are:

  1. Is there anything God wants me to start doing?
  2. Is there anything God wants me to stop doing?
  3. Is there any reason not to do what God wants?

Revival is your and God doing a personal audit of your spiritual life.  Let us seek Him together in the spirit of revival!  II Chronicles 7:14

We are excited today to introduce our new Bible Study, “Build Below the Baseline.”  This study will be provided for all ages beginning at the third grade in our church family.

With all the members of our families studying the same subject, we can talk about God’s Word together.  This will be a tool to help us grow spiritually as a church and as people of the Book.

Think about this – God gives each of us 168 hours every week.  That means you have 8,736 hours to use every year!

If you attend Sunday School (Bible Study on Sunday mornings) every Sunday, that would only be 52 hours per year.  That leaves 8,684 hours to live for ourselves.

If I gave a tithe of my time, if I said, “Lord, you have given me another year to live; I want to give 10% back in service to you!”  That would only be 868 hours given to the Lord each year.

Think about this, if I go to Sunday School and all three church services every week, that would only be 208 hours per year.  OUCH!  That is a long way from 868 hours as a “time tithe”.

The truth of the matter is, God has every hour of every day!  We love Jesus and we live for Him each and every day.

Let’s make an effort to step-up in 2017 and be faithful to Sunday School.

Happy New Year again!

Praise the Lord, we made it!  We have arrived in another year. Hello 2017!

A new year is often associated with starting over.  A new tax year, a new year of medical or dental deductions, a New Year’s resolution or a new diet for a New Year.

As Bible believers we rejoice in the arrival of the New Year, knowing it is a gift from God.  It is proof of God’s mercy and grace, the mile-marker – 2017!

In America, this year will be one of great change.  A new president is to be inaugurated on January 20th.  There will be new ambassadors to the United Nations, China, Russia, and Israel.  All these are among the news for 2017.

The challenge we face as Christians and as a church is to have a new walk with the Lord.  Our prayer, our plan and our push is to be more like Jesus each day in this New Year.

Every revival in a city or a country started in a church or a family first.  Every revival that burned in a church or a community found a heart of faith in some believer.

Let’s pray together for 2017 to be the year of revival.  Oh Lord, may it begin in my heart!

Don’t forget our revival begins Saturday night, January 14th as the men of our church meet for a meal, to spend time with our Evangelist, Tim Lee, and to pray together.

Revival services will start on Sunday, January 15th.

Happy New Year!

It is wonderful to see our attendance growing for Bible Study!

Our Sunday night and Wednesday night attendance have been an encouragement to the entire church.

One of our families that drive in from Haywood County, sent me a text on Wednesday night after the service… “the spirit of revival is upon Trinity. God is offering, we must accept.”

Thirty minutes after that text, another member called about an answered prayer!   Yes, this is all after church!  He and some other men from Trinity had met Wednesday morning at 5am to pray.  After the prayer time, he wrote down 4 special requests they had presented to the Lord.  By service time God had answered all 4 requests with power and authority!  Glory!  Praise the Lord for answered prayer!

Our Bible study was about “one thing”.  What is your passion?  What is the “one thing that gets you out of bed?”

We hope and pray that the “one thing” is serving Jesus!

  1. Psalm 27:4—One thing have I desired…
  2. Mark 10:21—One thing thou lackest…
  3. Luke 10:41—One thing is needful…
  4. John 9:25—One thing I know…
  5. Philippians 3:13—One thing I do…

Let’s keep praying for a spiritual awakening in our hearts!  Thank you for being faithful!

PS—Don’t  forget to say…”MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind in our nation and state.  North Carolina has not determined who will be our governor next year and the national election is still being debated.

We need the peace of the Lord in our hearts and homes.   We thank the Lord for the sure foundation of the Word of God!

Last year in December you worked very hard to be the New Testament, “Salt and Light”.  You explained to family and friends that “Jesus is the Reason for the Season”.

Our Lord challenged us to be “Salt and Light”.  The “Salt” aspect of our walk with the Lord is explained by salt being used in preservation.  Salt is used to cure meats and fish to prevent spoilage.  Bible believing Christians are used by the Lord to be “Salt” to a perishing generation.

The “Light” part has to do with our spiritual walk in pointing men to Jesus for Salvation.  “Let your Light shine before men!”  Jesus is the way to God!

For the next few weeks, let’s be “extra Salty” by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!   Jesus is the reason for the season and we testify to our “Salt and Light” when we say “Merry Christmas!”  Thank you for being faithful!
