Our “Young at Heart” ministry for those 50 and older has taken us from the Canadian Snow Train to the shores of Savannah, Georgia. We have traveled through the Shenandoah Valley, and toured the beautiful countryside and shared delicious meals in the homes of Amish families in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. From the depths of Luray Caverns to climbing the steps of a coastal lighthouse, we have seen our Nation’s Capital and watched our Bible come alive through the many plays at Sight and Sound Theatre. We have “raised” a Sock Monkey and had a surprise wedding. We sailed on boats and “quacked” our way through. From museums to stained glass churches, from beautiful gardens to fun times in the family life center, we have made many wonderful memories. Eating, laughing and sometimes crying together, our lives are richer for all these journeys!
Happy Hearts
Our friends who are 70 and older make up this group. From fun themed luncheons in the Family Life Center, a get-away picnic, ‘Ice Fishing’ (lunch at a fish restaurant and then on to get ice cream). These are our heroes of the faith!
Golden Hearts-Nursing Home Ministry
Heart to Heart
From a card ministry to shut-ins, to a group of dedicated folk who provide services at nine area nursing homes and to a new ministry in the beginning stages of providing one on one communication with our elderly; our goal is to make sure no person feels alone. Love is the theme of each of the outreach ministries and we could not do it without our wonderful volunteers who donate their time and their hearts for serving. Thank you.
