Luke 2:21-35

We see just a handful of righteous people involved in the early days of Christ’s life: Mary, Joseph, and Simon. Mary and Jospeh were wonderful, young, righteous, teenagers that God chose to tend to His only begotten Son! The Savior of the world.

These few people had some things in common….

Tonight, our heart will focus on the Thankfulness of our hearts, and as much as I love Turkey legs and deviled eggs—I want us to turn our attention towards the subject of giving thanks and praise to God for ALL of His blessings to us as a church and well as the individuals who make up this local body of believers.

Psalm 95:1-2

  1. O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
  2. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

You cant have the commission without communion and you cant have communion without The Body, without The Blood, and you can’t have The Body and The Blood without the Gospel. The good news that He came, He bled, He died, He resurrected Himself in power, He paid a price that I could never pay, and purchased me in an eternal transaction. Commission is on the line, eternity is in the balance. People need the Gospel! The good news! We must send the light into the darkness, but church, the road to go is hard, it’s difficult. He said pick up your cross and follow me.

Paul’s Condemnation of the Jew (whom he loved)

Paul is condemning them because of their perversion of the law!  They were more in love with the tradition of the elders that they were with God.

You see the the law is perfect. The law is wonderful! The law in its infancy, in the face of Abraham had great glory! But as time goes on, as the face of Abraham faded so did the glory of the law. By the time we get to these Jews that are living in Pauls days these are so full of pride. Sadducees and Pharisees full of pride. Full of themselves. They are in love with the letter of the law, but no the spirit.
