Commit Our Ways
We thank the Lord for our guest speaker, Dr. David Gibbs. The Lord used him to challenge our hearts on commitment.
Psalm 37:5, “Commit thy way unto the Lord; Trust also in Him; ”
In our study on “Convenience or Commitment,” we established the sharp difference in definitions. One requires little effort but the other requires dedication.
In Dr. Gibbs’ message, he expressed his burden and concern for the lack of commitment in the church of today.
Our Bible Study was about repairing and renewing our commitment to the Lord and our church.
The road to revival was expressed in four keys to this spiritual victory. The outline is as follows
- CLEAN UP!
- PRAY UP!
- STAND UP!
- SPEAK UP!
The first one is Clean Up! The spirit of revival must be with God’s people. We must lead the way. The church must be clean. I Peter 3:12 speaks of the Lord watching us! We must pray, “Search me, oh Lord”. The Word reminds us of the call to clean up in II Chronicles 2:14.
Next, we must Pray Up! “Ask and you shall receive,” is found 6 times in the New Testament. The Bible reminds us, “We have not because we ask not.” Pray and then pray some more! Prayer changes things!
Third, we have to Stand Up! I Corinthians 16:13, “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith…” Are you salt and light where you go to school or work?
Last, we must Speak Up! A watchman must speak up. We must have a voice for good in our community.
You are loved,
Pastor and Muzette
