Dear Trinity Church Family,
As we gather this Christmas and look to the coming New Year, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude and admiration for each and every one of you. Throughout this past year, we have weathered storms—both within and without—most notably the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Many of our own families experienced heartbreak and hardship, with damaged homes and in many cases, profound uncertainty weighing heavy on them. Yet, through it all, you have demonstrated the love of Christ in ways that humble me daily.
In the face of adversity, you did not shrink back; instead, you rose up in unity. I watched you become the hands and feet of Jesus, tending to the wounded and comforting the weary. In the midst of tragedy, a functioning Task Force was born in a day, the fruit of one prayer in a time of desperation. Even as some of you stood in flooded and damaged houses among piles of debris, you managed to put others first. You helped neighbors cut trees, repaired roofs, provided meals for the hungry, and comforted those who mourned. It was, and remains, a powerful reminder of God’s strength made perfect in our weakness. We saw the truth of Psalm 46:1 lived out: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
This Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, let us remember that no darkness can overcome the light of Christ. The same Jesus who came to earth in humble beginnings—cradled in a manger beneath a bright and guiding star—has guided us through this year’s trials and He will continue to lead us forward. His coming assures us that we are never alone, never without hope, and always deeply loved.
As we look ahead to a New Year full of promise, let us gaze “into the face” of 2025 with steadfast faith. We do not know what this coming year holds, but we do know the One who does. We can be sure that He will be with us every step of the way. Trinity, God has and will help us to rebuild, restore, and renew, both our homes and our hearts. For me and Miranda, it will be our joy and honor to walk forward with you, secure in God’s grace and mercy.
On behalf of my wife, Miranda, and our entire team at Trinity, I want to say how incredibly thankful I am for our congregation. Thank you for praying and loving me and Miranda in a way that is hard to put into words. Your prayers have not gone unanswered, your tears have not fallen unseen, and your perseverance has not been in vain. Glory to God!
May the birth of Jesus Christ fill your homes and your hearts with a renewed sense of peace and joy this Christmas. May the New Year find you hopeful, determined, and ever-reliant on His strength. It is an honor to serve as your Pastor, and I thank the Lord every day for each of you.
With abiding love and hope,
