Mary and Judas: The Easter War
John 12:1-11 | Pastor Winston Parrish
In John’s biography of Jesus, the first 11 chapters describe the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ from John’s perspective, covering three years. But the book’s second half, from chapters 12-21, covers just one week, the most critical week since creation. Everything gets very detailed and intense from here on. We’ve already met the essential characters that will be a part of the drama as it unfolds to the end.
The dividing line of Christ is drawn by what this glorious gospel teaches us that Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity in human form; fully God, fully man, the promised messianic King that God declared would come to take back the earth, establish His rule, and bring everlasting righteousness and peace.
There’s no one else like Him who evokes the extremes of love and hate, devotion and rejection, worship and blasphemy, faith and unbelief. The Bible tells us that He divides believers from unbelievers, sheep from goats, wheat from tares, and children of God from children of the devil. Jesus Christ divides everything. He divides all humanity. All people are either for Him or against Him. He divides destiny, families, marriages, friendships, and associations.
You are either for Him or against Him; it’s either Jesus or nothing!

- War For Eternity John 12:9-11
The war for my eternity is won! Victory Day was over 2,000 years ago, and with it came my hope, victory, joy, peace, courage, strength, power, and destiny. MY eternity is set, settled, and secure in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ!
