Harvey, Hurts, and Blessed to Help!

Trinity family, you are eye-witnesses to a historic disaster.

Our church and Hearts with Hands has been working disasters since 1992.  We have never seen the effects of such widespread damage.  It is unreal!

Hurricane Harvey has established all kinds of records that show the loss of lives and devastation of the living.

The storm parked over Texas and rained and rained. One reporter stated that the rain was of “Biblical proportions.”  Some areas had already received over 50 inches of rain and it was still raining.

Last Sunday night a group of 55 went to the Hearts with Hands Warehouse and packed 32 pallets of food and supplies for Texas.  Our first and second response has arrived there and an eighteen wheeler packed with ice is on the road.

Many of you sacrificed personal comforts and time to return to the warehouse to pack another truck for Texas on Wednesday.  Thank you for your “heart to help” and thank the Lord for blessing us so that we can help!

All of our ministries and outreach efforts work together to be a blessing.  We are a team for the Lord’s work and honor, preferring one another.

May God bless you for your kind heart and giving spirit.

New Name In Heaven

Last week we discussed that this sin cursed world is not our home.  We are not home yet!

What will it be like when we arrive in heaven?  Will we know each other?  We will have a body, but will I look the same? (I’m praying for major improvements!)

Will you know me? Will I know you and know your name?  Will we have our given names in heaven?

More questions!  I start thinking about heaven and my mind goes 1,000 mph.  Maybe even warp speed, when I begin to wonder, what will it all be like?

Some answers to our questions are found in Revelation 2:17

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in    the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

We will have our old name and a new name, when we get to heaven.

Remember Matthew 17:3, on the mount of Transfiguration

And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with Him. (Christ)

Moses and Elijah had died hundreds of years earlier, yet they were still known by their earthly names.

There will be thousands of Ralphs, hundreds of thousands of Marys, Sues, Toms and Joes.  But Jesus loves you so much that He will give you a new name, a private name, a real “love name” that will be just for you!

When He calls you, His lamb, by the new name on the white stone, you will know His voice!

Only You!  Not another Joe or Ralph, not another Barbara or Carrie, Just YOU.  There will be no confusion in Heaven!  God knows you.  Jesus knows you and He will give you a new name in heaven.

When He calls, you and Jesus will spend time together.

Oh, what a Saviour! Even so come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Heaven is Our Home

After having served for decades in Africa, a missionary couple, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morrison, were returning to New York to retire. After years of service they had no pension and their health was failing.  They were worried and discouraged.

The Morrisons were on the same ship as President Theodore Roosevelt, who was returning from one of his African hunting expeditions.

No one paid any attention to the missionary couple. They watched the fanfare that accompanied the President and his entourage.

When the ship docked in New York, a band was waiting to greet the President. The Mayor and the dignitaries were there. The papers were full of the news about the President’s arrival.

No one was there for the missionary couple. They walked off the ship to find a cheap flat on the East Side.  The next day would be filled with looking to see what they could do to make a living.

That night, the man said to his wife, “I can’t take this anymore; God is not treating us fairly.” His wife replied, “Why don’t you go in the next room and tell that to the Lord?”  A short time later he returned but his face was different. His wife said, “What happened?”  He replied, “The Lord settled it!”

Henry said, “I told the Lord that I was bitter; the President received a tremendous homecoming, when no one even met us at the dock!  When I finished complaining,     it seemed as though the Lord put his hand on my shoulder and simply said, “But you are not home yet!”

Hey Church, we are not home yet! This earth is not our home.

Take comfort from Hebrews 11:13 and I Peter 2:11 and remember that our citizenship is in heaven!

Be of good cheer!  We are not home yet!

Jubilee Blessings

Jubilee 2017, a time of wonderful testimonies, singing and preaching to reach your heart!

Pastor Randy Barton started our Jubilee with the comfort and challenge of A Friend of God. Pastor Keith Watkins continued with a plea for the lost with the condition of the sinner, the cry of the sinner and the conversion of the sinner.  Evangelist Rayton Puckett, at age 87, reminded us of our heritage and the power of Jesus to save.

It seemed our Jubilee was centered around comfort to the church and a challenge to do more for Jesus!

We welcome home Evangelist C.T. Townsend and Becky to celebrate another year of Jubilee. God has been so good to us year after year with wonderful singing and great Bible preaching!

Thank you to all our church volunteers.  The kitchen crew, the nursery workers, parking team, greeters, ushers, safety team, video & sound, and the Jubilee Choir, you all are amazing!  Thank you for all you do.  May God bless you and return unto you tenfold for your labor of love.

Faithful in Today’s Culture

Dr. James Alexander Stewart wrote in his autobiography, I Must Tell, about the wisdom and influence of his mother.

James Stewart’s father was very sick and the whole family had to work to help keep the family together.  When he was six years old, James told his mother that he would help by working for the farmer next door.  Over the few next years he had many jobs, including delivering milk, newspapers and morning rolls.

Dr. Stewart said the biggest thing in his life was soccer.  By 8 and 10 years of age, his skill was so good that he played with boys much older than himself.  His headmaster at school said, “James is a genius at sports.”

James’ father passed away when he was fourteen years old and every spare  moment of his life was given to perfecting his soccer skills.  Sports leaders were already speaking of James turning pro by the age of 16.  He was gifted!

His mother had prayed before James was born that God would use her son for the salvation of souls. Her son was gifted and talented.  The world desired his talents and offered him fame, pleasure and money.

James Stewart’s mother claimed Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”  His mother made sure her son went to church.  Dr. Stewart said, “My mother made sure that I sat under the best gospel message.”  She believed the Bible and honored God’s Word.   Though James had the ability to be a star soccer player, he instead went on to become a world-famous missionary, evangelist and author.

Mom and dad, Be faithful to church!  The souls of our children and grandchildren are the target of the devil.

We must be faithful!
