There has been one coronation that tops all others. The most consequential coronation ever held because there has only ever been one actual coronation of The Supreme Monarch, the supreme King, as a matter of fact Scriptures refer to our Lord as the King of Kings! There is no other King like Him, no other individual or ruler can compare, and yes, even Jesus had a coronation ceremony. The Lord Jesus Christ!

Let’s really set the scene here:

As Jesus entered the holy city, He neared the culmination of a long journey toward Golgotha. Realize that everything about His coronation was pointing to His soon coming death.
Palm Sunday really began with Jesus and His disciples traveling over the Mount of Olives. The Lord sent two disciples ahead into the village of Bethphage to find an animal to ride. They found the unbroken colt of a donkey, just as Jesus had said they would.

Luke 19:10
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

This week I want us to get even more personal and be honest about ourselves and what we believe, and really define our perspectives about life even as a believer. There are a lot of saved people who live their life beneath a barrier of broken expectations and truly have a misguided understanding of what life is supposed to be while here on this earth.

If our perspective if off, it can make us unstable. If our understanding isn’t correct our expectations will be unrealistic. The life of a believer is to be that of a level headed, well rounded, mature, spiritual being who takes everything in life and processes the data, the information before them, even the tough stuff, and comes to the conclusion that God is perfect, He is just, He is righteous and that He does all things well!

The battle, yet again, is human emotion. The one entity, the one corporation that keep me from being a level headed, well rounded, mature, spiritual being is me. My feelings, my emotions, how I see it.  Understand today that I am my biggest problem when it comes to either looking to truth or believing lies about life and perspective.

There is no greater quality that a friend can possess than that of a friend who is honest. The truth in love is such a valuable thing. Its so uncommon these days. My generation is plagued with this disease where people must be told what they want to hear, rather that what they need to hear.

A true friend will always tell you the truth in love and do it in a way that honors the friendship. I’ve got a lot of friends in the building today. People I love and care about, but there are a lot more people I wish that were here with me today. So many people that I want to see go to heaven, live a life thats pleasing to the Lord Jesus and enjoy living for Him.

So many of them should be here, but they aren’t. Now they have their reasons. They have excuses. Some of them are pretty simple, some excuses are complex and involve human emotion, issues, problems, relationships. We all deal with life as it comes, some respond well, others don’t.

But my fear is, the real concern I have today for those friends of mine that I wish were here with me today, is that they are making decisions for their life, making bold statements and walking a path based on things that are not true. Today with the help of the Lord I want to expose
“3 Lies That Are Being Told To My Friends”

So far we’ve seen Jesus as:

  1. 1. Visible Image of God
  2. 2. The Agent of Creation
  3. 3. The Sustainer
  4. 4. The Head of The Church
  5. 5. The one Who has come, and one Who is coming
  6. 6. The Lamb of God
  7. 7. The Son of God
  8. 8. The reason Lazarus should have still been in the house

Romans Chapter 1—Sin of the basic immoral person, the person that wants to ignore God, His law and His principals and live however they please without much thought given to Who God is and What He demands.

Romans Chapter 2 (part 1)—Sin of the morally superior person. The person that try to find the high ground within the human condition. I’m not a murderer, I haven’t done certain things, I’m not as bad as they are.

Romans Chapter 2 (part 2)— Sin of the Religious person who may even practice the law and know the content of the law, but have only the letter of the law and not the heart of God through the redeemer, the perfecter of the law.

Romans Chapter 3— Continue looking at the hyper-religious person, and now specifically at the guilt of religious skeptic.
