God is and all is well.
The Lord has ordained the footsteps of this local church in a way that is hard to put into words. The very specific nature of this disaster is at times overwhelming and very difficult to process. Many of our church members have lost their homes and their businesses, and we’re praying for some that have not yet been able to be contacted. Please pray that all are safe as we tirelessly try to contact the 1,578 active members of our congregation. They are the priority and I have assigned an entire division of staff members to facilitate that.
In Western North Carolina, there are communities that are in total ruin. Devastation doesn’t even come close to painting the picture of what is left. Please pray for our people, our community, and for divine intervention. This picture that I took on one of the many runs in the Barnardsville Community says more than I could ever say. Where was he? Where is he? Is he alive? Only the Lord knows.
Trinity Baptist Church has mobilized a brand new ministry in the last 48 hours housing, supporting, and supplying the out-of-state Swiftwater Rescue and Recovery Teams that are actively working all throughout WNC. We are also housing and supporting a task force from North Carolina. This new effort is called “Task Force Trinity.” All around us are vital tasks that must be accomplished for the sake of our community and for the glory of Jesus Christ, our King!
Additionally, we have opened a supply network filling requests for any needs of WNC Fire Departments, EMS Departments, and Law Enforcement Agencies. These folks need our prayers and our support now more than ever. Please continue to pray for our church, our people, and for the hope of the gospel to shine strong through us. Buildings have crumbled, bridges have shattered, but I’m glad to report that in Asheville, we have a strong tower that has not failed!
Proverbs 18:10 – “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
