The child of God needs prayer every day. When we pray, we invite God into our lives and ask for His guidance. Prayer is a way that we spend time with Him. Whether at home, driving on the highways, at church, or in the hospital, we need to communicate with our Father. We need Him each day. Prayer is essential because it helps to change our perspective as we see life through God’s eyes.
Many times during the day, the church office sends out a “Gideon,” a notification that a request has been made for prayer. This process was established by Pastor Ralph many years ago in honor of Gideon’s 300 men, whom God used to defeat a much larger army through God’s power. These notifications mean that someone has sent a text, called, or emailed a request asking the people at Trinity to pray. It can be a severe health need or situation, a happy event, such as the birth of a baby, or an unspoken request. This is just one example of the prayer communication in our church. Others include the prayer insert in the bulletin, divided into our Pastors, our Ministries, a Hospital List, Nursing Homes, Military, Bereaved, and long-term and short-term needs. An essential part of your week should be to pray for those on these lists.
The Family Care ministry provides prayer and support to those who are experiencing significant events in their lives. We recently developed a mission statement for the Family Care ministry: With concern for all members of TBC, the Family Care Ministry will offer/provide spiritual and practical support to people of all age groups, in conjunction with age-specific and life-group ministries.
To specifically offer spiritual and emotional support at times of illness, death, bereavement, and life challenges, displaying the love of Christ through love and prayer by being the hands and feet of Jesus. We remember and are aware that each and every person’s spiritual condition is of primary concern and is encouraged and supported.
It is our privilege to serve our church family through the Family Care Ministry.
