Erasing the Line Between Sacred and Secular, Part 3
1 John 2:15-20 | Pastor Winston Parrish
In erasing the lines between sacred and secular we are
- Called to “love NOT” the World
- Reminded of the present worlds doom
- Warned of Antichrist and Antichrists
- Encouraged to Abide in Truth
I want to continue to examine the Apostle John’s writings closely. What he has written here is so relevant to where we are today that it’s breathtaking. It’s a powerful reminder that God has not strung the church out in these dark and challenging days without the nourishment we need from His word. Rather, He has dispatched us to live in these difficult days with the vital resources from His Word.
Jude 3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Jude wrote this urgent imperative for Christians to wage war against terror in all forms and to fight strenuously for the truth, like a soldier entrusted with the sacred task of guarding a holy treasure!
Why should we be encouraged to abide in truth? Because it is worth living, fighting, and dying for. Most of the men whom God used mightily to write our Bible under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost lived, fought, and died for us to have the truth of God’s Word.
