II Corinthians 10:16-17 “To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
Montana, Big Sky Country, is in a beautiful region of our country. Located in the Rocky Mountain region, Montana is known for its National Parks and breathtaking scenery. Although it is a beautiful state, Montana is in desperate need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Montana is the fourth largest state in land mass but only has just over a million people. When you look at the state of Montana spiritually, you will find that much of the state lies in spiritual darkness. The pioneers that settled in Montana did not settle the state with the idea of pleasing God and following His Word. Rather, many of the pioneers went west to get away from their upbringing back east. Virginia City, Montana, one of the first cities established in Montana, was known for its brothels and bars. Sadly, much of the state of Montana still gropes in spiritual darkness like it did in its founding. When it comes to solid gospel preaching churches in the state of Montana, you will find that there are counties that do not have a gospel preaching church. Counties that do have a gospel preaching church have few in number and are hours apart, leaving Christians oftentimes to travel up to a 1 ½ to 2 hours one way to travel to a church.
My name is Daniel, and my wife Lindsay, and our son Winston, have been called to reach the town of Libby, Montana with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Libby located in the Northwest region of the state of Montana. It is west of Glacier National Park, south of the Canadian Border, and east of the panhandle of Idaho. Libby is a town of just under 3,000 people. Like many towns in Montana, Libby does not have a solid gospel preaching church. When the Lord called my family and I to plant a church in Libby, Montana, He used the verses of II Corinthians 10:16-17 to confirm His calling for our lives. Since January of this year, we have stepped out by faith and have been raising support to reach Libby with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to be there by June of 2024. Once we are there, we are desiring to get to know the community and the people of Libby, and in October of 2024, officially begin the church.
Once the church has been established, we are desiring to see the church in Libby be used to help see other churches planted in Montana, as well as around the world. Our goal is to always reach the regions beyond! Thank you for having us and we are grateful for what God is going to do!
In Christ,
Daniel, Lindsay and Winston Grover
